Brain Blog

Hello everyone, I'm writing this to keep you all updated on everything in my life.

So Wednesday was going normally as every Wednesday usually does, Ruthie came over at around 10 or so and we were enjoying each other's company, having a nice time together. At around 12.30am I felt a sharp pain in the right side of my head. I reeled to the side and called out for my room mate. I lost feeling in my left arm and leg and tried to stand up but fell to the ground. Needless to say, I was very frightened. The light was turned on to check me out and I noticed a loss of my peripheral vision-uh-oh I thought. I was confused as to what the hell was goin on. The ambulance was called and I was brought to my local Bellvue Hospital. I stayed overnight and Mom and Dad picked me and Ruthie up, brought Ruthie back to M'Ville and me to my primary care doctor. I was still having trouble seeing out of part of my eyes-which worried me, obviously. My doctor couldn't figure out what was wrong with me so I went to a neuologist, and then today I got an MRI. Tonight I went to another neuologist and we looked at the MRI pictures. He deducted that I had a mini-stroke and should recover my eyesight. The eye-doctor said that my eyes were working perfectly but the brain was the problem-it wasn't translating part of my eyesight correctly. The eye doctor concluded that the top 25% of my left eye field of vision is pretty foggy and the right eye had the same thing but not as bad.
I feel okay now-the neuologist said that the condition came on out of nowhere, randomly and I couldn't have prevented it. He prescribed pills that will keep my veins and arteries in my brain open-that's what set it off-constricted arteries that stopped the flow of blood/sugar/water/whatever to a portion of my brain for whatever reason-who knows??
The point of the post is; I feel okay now and hope to recover eyesight 100% but who knows. I tried playing piano and remembering pieces that I've memorized and I did just fine-no music or piano parts of my brain were affected THANK GOD!
I hope you are all well...please don't worry about me, I'll be just fine. I hope everyone is relaxing for the weekend...thanks to all of you that called :) bye bye.
